October Ipsy Glam Bag Review!

Wednesday's are hard. That mid-week slump can be so trying! What made this Wednesday better was that I got my Ipsy Glam Bag today!! I've been really excited for this one and I'll show you why, after I tell you a bit about the Ipsy service.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends you products and samples based on your reviews and profile. I've had my subscription for about 11 (?) months and I've been very satisfied. I know a lot of people have had complaints about the products they've received in their bags but I try to remind myself it's a sample service. They can't always give everyone exactly what they want and you can always trade with someone or gift your extra items. If you don't have Ipsy, you can sign up here

The theme for this months beauty bag was "Beauty Candy" and the bag even reminds me of a chocolate bar as was their goal I believe. When I saw my Glam room for this month, I was happy to see that I was basically getting a full face of makeup! Not only did I get a lipstick, I also got mascara, a cream highlighter, hand cream and facial wipes.

The mascara is from Modelco and is their "VOLUMEYES Extreme Black Mascara." The description from the Ipsy site states that this mascara

" • Transforms lashes to lush, long and lustrous
 • Triple groove wand combs through for clump-free volume
 • Buildable formula takes lashes to extreme results
• Separates, coats and curls each individual lash"

I love sampling new mascaras and this is definitely the item I'm most looking forward to trying. I can't wait!

The Cream highlighter is from Doll10 Beauty and is their "H2Glo Highlighter" in Champagne. I love champagne colors for highlighters. White always seem too bright to me and a soft gold color really seem to brighten up my complexion. This highlighter looked kind of bland at first. After I swirled my finger in it and warmed it up a bit the sparkle appeared and it looked really pretty. The packaging is very classy. The black casing is very sleek and thin but there's a great little mirror inside so you can touch up your look on the go. It closes with a reassuring soft snap, so you won't have to worry about it working itself open.  I'm excited to try this on my cheekbones tomorrow.

The next item is the City Color "BE MATTE" lipstick in Cappuccino. I haven't opened this one yet because I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. I have a hard time with lipsticks in general because they are not as moisturizing as a gloss and matte formulas tend to be even worse for me. Plus the brown color isn't one I would normally choose for myself.  I have received other products from City Color and loved them, so we will have to see about this one.

Fig and Rouge is the company behind the Mango Mandarin Hand Cream. The hand cream is made in the U.K. and claims to be "pure and natural." It smells AMAZING. I am a huge fan of mango and orange scents so this combination was something I knew I would love. The packaging is adorable and there was a foil safety seal under the cap. This is an easy product to use and it's going in my purse immediately!

The last item is a 10-count package of "Glacial Cleansing Cloths" from skynn ICELAND. Cleansing cloths are something I use all the time as part of my nightly routine. I just finished a package so the timing is perfect! If I'm having a lazy night, I use the cleansing cloths to remove most of my makeup. At that point, the idea of washing my face doesn't seem as messy and time consuming and I'm more inclined to actually do it.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this months offering. The bag is adorable and all the products are things I would use or at least consider trying. Way to go Ipsy!!

Have you tried any of these products? Do you have a favorite beauty subscription or one you want to try?

  1. The highlighter looks really nice. I am usually drawn to the champagne colors as well. I think its nice that they also included a hand cream. Seems like this month was a really good deal. You got a lot of products for the price of the subscription.

    1. Ipsy is great like that. Even if you get something that's not your color or style, you usually get enough other things to make up for it, plus there's always the bag and those are quite useful!! I'm really liking the highlighter so far. Smells a bit like kid makeup but it looks really pretty.
