I LOVE a good smoky eye. I also love cat-eye looks. So of course, my favorite eye look is a combination of the two, and I just had to share it with you. I apologize in advance for the unruly eyebrows, the poor lighting and the fact that my face is a bit asymmetrical. I can't really change that last one but I will work on the rest.
Last year I purchased the Revealed Palette from Coastal Scents. The colors were a combination of neutrals, and I couldn't resist getting it. I was amazed at how great the shadows were and how inexpensive it was. When I found out Coastal Scents had released a Revealed 2 palette, I had to get it as well. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and this look has been my go-to most days. The eye shadow colors I used for this look are listed at the bottom of the post.
After applying your usual foundation, line your eyes with a creamy blendable eye pencil. I used the jumbo eye pencil in Dark Brown from NYX. I like to leave the inner fourth of my eye without liner and wing it out at the end. It doesn't have to be neat or pretty and I try to follow the upward angle of my lower lash line.
Use a medium shade to fill in the middle portion of your eye, in your crease and slightly above your crease. Leave the inner corner bare and gently blend together. I used color 2 and the other side of my Crown brush, but a good contour brush also works well. Using the same medium color, gently shade under the outer two-thirds of your bottom lashes. Now use a gold or champagne based shade (color 3) to fill in the inner corner and a little towards your brow bone. Don't forget to blend!
Tidy things up by sweeping a matte highlighter shade (color 4) under your eyebrow, under the cat eye portion, (where you winged the liner out earlier) and under your eyes to keep your mascara from smudging and to set the look. I usually use a matte yellowish cream shadow but this palette only has a light pink matte so I used that.
Taking a dark liner color (color 5), use an angled eyeliner brush to tap it in against your lashes for extra definition and just under the outer third of your lower lashes. Blend it all together making sure everything is even. I had to go back with the medium shade (color 2) to touch up my crease and really smoke it out. Apply a few coats of mascara and you're done!
Below is a chart of the colors I used from the Revealed 2 palette. The palette is from Coastal Scents, and for only $20 I think the colors and shadows are amazing. The eye shadow brush is the Crown Deluxe Infinity Shadow/Crease Brush. I received it in trade in a swap but a lot of people got it through their Ipsy subscription not too long ago.
