Aeveka Skincare Repairing Micro Facial Scrub Review

A few weeks ago I won a bottle of Aeveka Repairing Micro facial scrub from one of my favorite bloggers, Macarons and Mischief . I was so excited!!! I rarely win things, and I remember thinking how perfect this product was for me when I entered, so it was an extra special treat.

When I opened my package, I couldn't help but squeal at how adorable everything was!!  They had all the items bundled up in a cute little bag and along with the Repairing Scrub there were 6 samples of some of their other products.

All of the Aeveka products are organic, vegan and GMO free. Their goal is to provide natural, good for you skincare that doesn't have any of the usual chemicals you find in most products. From the website:

"Aeveka is Organic, Vegan skincare line. We are Paraben-free, Formaldehyde-free, Phthalates-free, Sulfate-free, non-GMO, Cruelty-free, Eco friendly and its made in USA. There is absolutely No Animal Testing. Aeveka is all about healthy and pure skincare products. Aeveka skincare is made with all natural and organic ingredients. Our products contain no harmful, heavy, oils and are not diluted with water. Aeveka uses real fruit juices, purees, green and red teas that are cold pressed in order to keep their nutritional value."

I love everything about that statement and it's really encouraging to see a company with these goals.

Now, on to the review. This scrub contains Aluminum Oxide Crystals, Organic Aloe, Organic Sweet Orange Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Sweet Orange Fruit Oil, Organic Chamomile Extract, Organic Green Tea Extract, Bladderwrack Extract and Witch Hazel. All of these ingredients have a specific purpose to renew your skin, win!!

The first time I used this scrub all I could think about was how amazing it was. The grains are so fine they don't feel scratchy at all and there is a very nice orange scent to it. Not too strong, just very refreshing. I was very gentle in my scrubbing and had no irritation afterwards. After my shower I used a little bit of the Resurfacing Facial Serum sample and then the Revitalizing Day Creme. My skin felt incredibly smooth and supple and the cucumber smell of the day creme gave a nice start to my morning. I almost didn't want to cover it up with makeup, it smelled so good.

I don't have a lot of experience with micro-exfoliation scrubs. The only other ones I've tried are a Mary Kay one years ago and more recently the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion from my May Ipsy bag. As far as drugstore scrubs go, St. Ives has a daily scrub called "Even and Bright" that I use and really like. I consider it one of the best grainy scrubs I've tried, but it is not a micro scrub. In comparing the Aeveka and the Dr. Brandt, I like the Aeveka one better. It's not as thick as the Dr. Brandt and I prefer the citrus smell over peppermint. The grains in the Dr. Brandt scrub seem slightly less condensed in the base. The  Aeveka scrub is more liquidy and the grains seem more evenly distributed. The extra liquid makes it easier to spread so you get more even coverage.

I'm definitely a fan of this scrub and I may try more from this line. In my package they sent samples of all of their products in these adorable, tiny little balls. I've already used up one of them. All the products smell great and I really like their approach to skincare. I still have some of the other samples left and will continue to use them up until they're gone. I may even purchase some of the other products.

What do you think? Have you tried Aeveka products or another skincare line?
