February Ipsy Bag

This bag has been sitting in my "to be reviewed" pile for far too long!! I got a little behind and out of the habit of blogging recently and I'm trying to get caught up. I didn't receive my bag until almost March and although I was slow in trying the products, I'm glad I did.

Ipsy's theme for February was love, not surprising due to Valentine's day and all of the products this month were designed to help you achieve a glowing look.  I was pretty impressed with the range of products in this bag and thought it was well put together.

     This month's bag included:

          - two GlamGlow BRIGHTMUD eye treatments,
          - Mitchell and Peach fine radiance face oil,
          - Luxie Beauty fine angled face brush #504,
          - Medusa's Makeup Safari eye shadow in Headhunter, and
          - ModelCO blush in Peach Bellini.

I was really excited to receive the face oil and the brush. One can never have too many brushes and since my face is having a civil war between oily and dry right now, the face oil was a fun item to try. I tried one of the GlamGlow brightmud eye treatments and I really thought it made a difference in my undereye circles. It's hard to tell without a longer trial and I am saving the second one for a special occasion.  I was also hesitant to try the ModelCO  blush because it looks fairly orange-based but it goes on beautifully. The blush also reminds me a little of NARS Orgasm. As I don't own that one, I can't compare them. The eye shadow went on smoothly as well but as you'll see in the photos, it flaked a bit when I was swatching it on my finger. It applied much more smoothly with a brush.

Overall, I loved this months bag. The products are all things I would use or want to try and the formula of the eye shadow and blush were great. I will probably use this blush quite frequently and it's a great size for traveling. The eye shadow reminds me of a few Urban Decay shadows I've had and I always love purple so it's a winner in my book.  Ipsy often surprises me with fun things to try that I wouldn't think to pick for myself. Maybe it's because I don't have high expectations but I almost always enjoy most of what I receive. I think most of the fun of beauty bags/boxes is trying new things.

What about you? Did you get anything fun in last month's bag?
